Daniel K. Nanghaka
Daniel K. Nanghaka is the chair of Free Software and Open Source Foundation for Africa (FOSSA) and Executive Director of ILICIT Africa an organisation whose aim is to enhance livelihoods through Communication Information Technology, ICT Pan Africanist and .africa advocate. Daniel is passionate about the Internet transformation in Africa and strongly advocates for promotion of local content, Mapping, FOSS, Building Community Wireless Networks and Software Development, particularly supporting youth development and social justice programs. Daniel is the Co-Chair of the Outreach and Engagement Sub Committee within ICANN At Large, and a member of the Root Directory Service Working Group in ICANN.
In 2010 led the team that rode from Kampala to Nairobi leading a campaign Trees for Safe Life, Daniel has led various advocacy biking expeditions including Tour De EAC advocating for the East Africa Community and is involved in personal expeditions which include riding his bicycle from Kampala (Uganda) to Lusaka (Zambia) and runs a Facebook page where he documents his rides – “Trail Africa on Bike”. The last expedition he held was through the Scandinavian Countries bringing a Real African experience of the Trails to the Mountains with a goal to prove that we can always overcome challenges.
